The Miele Experience
If you’d like to try out the wide range of Miele appliances, including their steam ovens, you might be interested in The Miele Experience. Here’s what they’ve got to say about the centre:
The dedicated customer centre displays the range of Miele domestic and professional appliances. A team of Product Advisors can give you expert advice and assistance to ensure you are selecting the right appliance for your requirements. The centre offers a truly live experience as products are displayed electrically connected, so you can even try out the controls during your visit. Some of the machines are fully live so you could even try out the wash results on a favourite garment or see the results of an oven on your favourite recipe.
Sounds like it’s worth a trip if you’re in the area (Abingdon, Oxfordshire).
Steam Cooking On MegaYacht
Just a quick post to mention a site that I stumbled upon. The Wayward Chef (Christina Topham) is a blog about Christina’s plans to work as a chef onboard a megayacht, setting sail (or motors) from Seattle this August. In this particular post you’ll read that the yachts galley is being equipped with a Miele steam oven in addition to traditional convection ovens!
Smeg Steam Ovens
Can you buy a Smeg steam oven? Yes, you can - well at least we’ve found the one so far!
Sainsburys Kitchen Appliances have got the Smeg FV38X (pictured) available on their website for £505 (price may change) plus £19.99 delivery. You do get around 1000 Nectar cards points though.
Appliances store Biasco have got the very same oven for £472 (again, at time of writing) with a delivery charge of £30 - so you could save a pound or two. We do sometimes have discount codes for use at Biasco but there are non live at the moment unfortunately.
We’re on the look out for more Smeg ovens deals of course and we’ll post about them when we do find them!
John Lewis Oven Disposal Service
Let’s say you’re after a lovely new steam oven and you want to get rid of your old one - how do you do that?
Well, John Lewis have a solution for you. For example, let’s say you’re going to buy the Neff B876NO Compact Steam Oven; at the bottom of the page you can enter your postcode and check to see if you can use their £9 disposal service. They’ll take away your old appliance (the service is not just for ovens, fridges, freezers, washing machines and dishwashers are included too) when they deliver your new item - though don’t expect them to be disconnecting your existing appliance of course.
Now obviously I can’t check every postcode for you but if you live in Hoylake, Wirral too it looks like we’re covered.
Steam Ovens Stocked By Sainsburys Appliances
Of course just about everyone knows who Sainsburys are - it’s hard to miss their supermarkets all over the UK!
What perhaps isn’t quite so well known is that Sainsburys also have a dedicated website offering cut price deals on a wide range of appliances. The good news for those of you hunting for a new steam oven is that the site includes a dedicated steam oven section. The section includes models from these manufacturers:
- Smeg
- Bosch
- Hotpoint
- Neff
- Miele
It looks like they favour Miele steam ovens as the site is detailing six individual models with a colour range including both black and silver (stainless steel). The Miele DG4064L looks very hi-tech indeed - though with a price tag of nearly £3000 you’d expect it to look and act the part. All the Miele ovens come with a 2 year manufacturers warranty.
